Oh and what a dream it was…The local, award-winning jewellery brand PICHULIK has done it again,  this time with a more refined colour palette of subtle pinks and earthy hues for their SS17 collection. From the organic shapes and materials of the jewellery to the dusty pink paint on the wall and the unfinished building of St Georges Mall, everything tied together to be picture perfect. The textures surrounding the room magnified the desert influences, adding to the nomadic character of the collection.

No two pieces are the same as each item is handcrafted, with materials such as, shell, horn, coral, jade and glass. The individual items were paired beautifully with clothing by Nadya von Stein, garments that are made from hand dyed hemp in natural shades, as well as PICHULIK’s collaboration with Espadril to create stunning must have espadrilles. We want a pair, we need a pair!

The straw hat and bag are limited edition and playful in nature with PICHULIK’s persona shining through. The Anahita choker neckpiece stole the show with its bold structure and gold ball embellishments. Who doesn’t love a chocker?
Especially one like this,  there is nothing else quite like it!

All in all, the previewing of the PICHULIK SS17 collection was a beautiful and whimsical experience of resort wear from the local “it” designers, collaborating to create products that SA can be proud of!
